Game
The Game of Australian Rules Football, a sport that is played across Australia, is called the Game of Australian Rules Football. It is an official part the Australian football championship and can be played by amateur and professional players. The season lasts between March and August. The finals are held in September. The game has a climatic difference, and in tropics it is usually played during the wet season.
Goal square
The goal area is the space on the field in the goal score zone. Each goal square measures 6.4m x 9m and is located in front of each goal face. The "kick-in" is when a player scores the goal from outside of the goal area. A kick-off line runs parallel the goal line. The imaginary nine-metre line has radial markings. Free kicks that are taken on the defensive side of the goal square are advanced to the nine-metre line.

Umpires
If you are looking for a fulfilling career in Australian Rules Football umpiring could be the right choice. You can volunteer to help at your local competition, and you may be assigned matches at various times throughout the year. Senior and junior divisions hold matches on Saturdays at 11:00am and 12:30pm, respectively. Juniors take part on Sundays at 2pm. The umpires will receive coaching and training in addition to their paid positions.
Bright colours are used by umpires
Australian rules football's umpires (AFL) used to wear white, but they have been wearing brighter colours recently. Instead of wearing a traditional white coat with a wide brimmed cap and a white coat, umpires now wear bright tees and baseball caps. Supporters are often pictured with umpires, who usually wear team guernseys.
Goal scoring
In Australian rules football, goal scoring is a central component of the game. The game is governed by a set of rules, which vary from code to code. In order to score, the player must be within five metres from the ball. If the goalkeeper is more than five meters away, the goal will not be scored.
Hand passing
Hand passing is a key element in Australian rules football. It allows players the ability to pass the ball one to another, without disrupting play. Hand passing was considered secondary to kick and was limited to players with short time to kick the ball. However, the rules of the game have changed and hand passing is now a frequent part of the game.

Full body tackles
Aussie Rules football doesn't make full body tackles illegal. Only when the ball is in the other's possession, are they considered illegal. To tackle a player above the knees or over the shoulder is a free kick. Pushing in the back is not considered a tackle and can result in a trip.
