It is popular with families, and there are many people who love it. There are also many rules and regulations that must be followed when playing the game.
Game
The Game of Australian Rules Football is a sport played all over Australia. It is an official part the Australian football championship and can be played by amateur and professional players. The season runs from March to August while the finals are in September. There is a climate difference and the game is played in the tropics during the wet season.
Goal square
The goal square is the spot on the field where the goal is scored. Each goal area measures 6.4mx9m2 and is located in front the goal faces. Goals are scored when a player scores a goal from outside the goal square, which is called a "kick-in". There is a kick-off line which runs parallel to the goal line, and the nine-metre line is an imaginary line which is marked by radial markings. Kicks taken on the defensive end of the goal square are free and are moved to the nine-metre mark.

Umpires
If you are looking for a fulfilling career in Australian Rules Football umpiring could be the right choice. You can volunteer to help at your local competition, and you may be assigned matches at various times throughout the year. Senior and junior divisions hold matches on Saturdays at 11:00am and 12:30pm, respectively. Juniors take part on Sundays at 2pm. Apart from the paid positions, umpires get training and one on one coaching.
Bright colours are preferred by umpires
Australian rules football umpires have worn white for many years, but recently they switched to brighter colors. Instead of the traditional white coat and wide-brimmed caps, they now sport bright tshirts and baseball caps. As supporters, umpires often wear team guernseys or scarves.
Goal scoring
The goal scoring component of Australian rules football is key. The rules of the game vary from code-to-code. The goalie must stay within five meters of the ball. If the goalkeeper is more than five meters away, the goal will not be scored.
Hand passing
Hand passing is an important element of Australian rules football. It allows players pass the ball between teammates and does not interrupt the game. Hand passing was traditionally considered second to kicking. It was only used when one player was unable to kick the ball. Now, hand passing is a part of the game and has been made a more common part of the rules.

All body tackles
Aussie Rules football allows for full body tackles. Only when the ball is in the other's possession, are they considered illegal. A free kick or push in the back to a player is not considered a tackle.
