A cricket field is a rectangular-shaped surface that measures 22 yards. It is primarily covered with small grasses, which gives the balls the bounce they need to score runs. Spike shoes are not recommended for use on cricket pitches as they can cause damage and give bowlers an unfair advantage.
22 yard cricket pitch
To play cricket successfully, you need to have a pitch of 22 yards. Cricket is a bat and balls game played between two teams with 11 players. Each team is placed on a 22-yard pitch. The boundary rope surrounds the pitch. The wickets are located at the ends of each pitch. Each team has two players who each take turns fielding and batting during a game. The game is won by whichever team has the most runs.

Return crease
A return crease, or the area where the batsman can take the field if he's out, is the part of the cricket pitch that the batsman can use to bat. If he pitches outside of this area, a wicket keeper might declare him out. The return crease is at an angle of 1.8 degrees from the middle stump and it measures 2.44 meters in length.
From wicket to wicket, size
It is a matter of debate whether the measurement from wicket and wicket should include the bails. Some experts recommend a height of 47 inches while others suggest a height of 53 inches. Bails add approximately 5 inches to the height.
Shape
Both sides are concerned about the shape of a cricket pitch. The center line of a cricket pitch is generally 65-70 meters from the home plate. A cricket pitch is roughly two feet longer that a baseball pitch.

Rule book
A cricket pitch has certain dimensions that determine its playability. The wicket is composed of three wooden stumps that are arranged in a straight line. They are then topped by two crosspieces made from wood called bails. The wicket measures approximately 28 feet long and nine inches in width.
